Frequently
Asked Questions
My child is
struggling in school and at home. I suspect that he/she may have
a problem, but I'm not sure what it is. I've talked with several
people about it and they've told me that he/she will eventually
grow out of it. What can I do to help my child?
Children
struggle at school and at home for many different reasons. In
some cases, these may be due to maturational issues or
"growing pains." However, in many cases, it may not be
a typical “growing pain” and the child may indeed have a
problem. The cardinal rule is that the earlier a problem is
identified, the sooner the child may receive help for it. In
situations like this, psychological testing helps to determine
if a child has a problem, what it is, and what may be done to
help him/her. The types of interventions that the child receives
depend on the problem that he/she has.
